Associate Degree Planning
Students pursuing the Associate of Science Degree in LVN should plan additional general education coursework with a counselor. Common degree-planning areas include:
- Oral communication
- Arts and humanities
- Social science
- 1-unit kinesiology activity course
- Cultural diversity and other degree pattern requirements as applicable
College general education patterns can change, so confirm the current degree requirements before registering.
Recommended for Students Planning RN Later
Students who hope to continue into ADN-RN should consider completing these courses early when possible:

- BIO 9 Human Physiology
- BIO 8 Microbiology
- COMM C1000 Public Speaking
- SOC 1A Introduction to Sociology
- STAT C1000 Introduction to Statistics
Early planning makes RN progression smoother and prevents avoidable prerequisite gaps.
