IBM New Collar Initiative
As you may have seen in news reports, there are currently 500K open technology jobs but our traditional universities are only producing one-tenth that number of computer science graduates. At any given time, IBM has thousands of job openings across the US, but like others in our industry, we can't always find enough candidates with the right mix of technology skills to fill all of those positions. To address this gap, we're pleased to announce the launch of the Community College Skills Accelerator, a program geared towards community colleges that provides faculty and staff access to our offerings, education, and programs which will allow students to build the skills they need for new collar roles. We're also working on building key partnerships with community colleges near our US major locations to help establish a greater on-campus presence and talent pipeline for IBM.
We are partnering with community colleges to build the skills of the future by:
• Creating skills roadmaps that faculty and staff can transform curriculum for new collar jobs.
• Offering FREE access to IBM tools, including platforms, services, and software.
• Creation of Open Badges so faculty can build them into their curriculum.
• Offering direct access to IBM mentorships and subject matter expertise, including collaboration on curriculum review and creation.
You can find all the badges offered here
