About the CNA Course
About AH 280
AH 280 Fundamentals of Nursing—Convalescent provides a basic introduction to patient care in the convalescent setting. The course includes planning, safety, infection control, personal care, basic procedures, rehabilitation, nutrition, and clients’ rights and needs.
At the completion of AH 280, students may qualify to take the state written and skills examination for nursing assistant certification.
Optional Home Health Aide Progression
AH 282 Home Health Care is designed to prepare students to provide basic health care in the home. Students interested in Home Health Aide preparation should ask the department about course availability and sequencing.
Important Expectations
Direct patient care is physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding. Students should be prepared for classroom, lab, and clinical responsibilities, including professional conduct, attendance, and safety expectations.
