ADN-RN Degree Requirements
Degree Requirements Overview
The ADN-RN curriculum is completed over four semesters after prerequisite coursework. Additional time may be needed to complete all Associate in Science degree requirements.
Additional General Education Requirements
- Any arts/humanities course (3 units minimum)
- One course from Area 3 in the current Gavilan AA/AS General Education pattern
- History 1, History 2, History 5, or POLS C1000
- One 1-unit kinesiology activity course
Students are strongly encouraged to meet with a Nursing Counselor to review all graduation requirements and develop an educational plan.

Program Completion
Upon completion of the nursing curriculum and all Gavilan graduation requirements, students earn an Associate in Science Degree and a Certificate of Achievement in Registered Nursing.
Graduates may then be eligible to apply for the NCLEX-RN. There is a fee to take the NCLEX-RN and a separate fee for licensure application.
Completion of the program does not guarantee licensure or employment.
