Maggie Pereyra – April 2026:
Nursing Instructor, Allied Health Department
Maggie Pereyra has earned recognition as Employee of the Month because of her exceptional leadership, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to student success and program excellence within Gavilan College’s Nursing Department and LVN Program.
Maggie consistently demonstrates excellence as an educator, Director of the LVN Program, colleague, and advocate for students. She brings strong clinical expertise, integrity, and a student-centered approach that creates a supportive and meaningful learning environment for both students and faculty.
As Director, Maggie effectively manages program responsibilities, accreditation requirements, curriculum development, and faculty support with organization, vision, and professionalism. She is clinically competent and skilled, committed to lifelong learning, and continuously seeks opportunities for professional growth and improvement, strengthening both her leadership and the program’s overall quality and reputation.
Maggie has also been heavily involved in participatory governance at Gavilan College through her work on the Department Chairs Committee, Curriculum Committee, and Academic Senate. Her active engagement in these areas reflects her commitment not only to the Nursing Department, but also to the broader mission and continued improvement of the college as a whole.
In addition, Maggie is highly collaborative, dependable, and always willing to support the department wherever needed. Her dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence make her an invaluable asset to both the LVN and RN programs and well deserving of this recognition. Her positive impact is evident in the success of her students, her program, and the respect she has earned from colleagues across the college.
