Are you ready to earn your degree or certificate?
If you are planning to complete an associate degree and/or certificate by the end of the Spring 2026 semester, you must meet with a counselor to verify that you will meet all requirements and complete a Petition for Degree or Certificate by the required deadline below.
Please schedule an appointment with a counselor on the Counseling Website. If you are part of a special program, please meet with your program’s counselor.
A Petition for Degree or Certificate is required whether you plan to attend the commencement ceremony or not. Course requirements may be in progress at the time of petition.
Fall 2025 graduates will be invited to the Spring 2026 graduation and commencement ceremony.
Spring 2026 Graduates:
- March 6, 2026: Deadline to submit a graduation petition with ADT (AA-T/AS-T) requiring an E-Verification for students transferring to a CSU in Fall 2026.
- April 17, 2026: Deadline to submit a graduation petition to be eligible to walk in the cermeony and have their name printed in the program. Graduation petition's submitted after April 17 will not have their name appear in the printed program.
- May 15, 2026: Deadline to submit a graduation petition to be eligible to walk in the ceremony. Student's name will not appear in the printed program.
- May 18, 2026 Deadline to RSVP for Commencement. Please check @my.gavilan.edu student email address for an RSVP Link.

Join us for Grad Fest! Pick up your Graduation Packet, snap a photo, and share where you're transferring or what your next steps will be! Represent your transfer school by wearing your gear, and let's celebrate your hard work and future plans! Students will also have the chance to record a personal message for friends and family that will be played during the commencement ceremony.

You did it! Come celebrate your acceptance to San José State University or CSU Monterey Bay at our Signing Day events. University staff from Student Services will be on campus to congratulate you, answer questions, and officially welcome you to your new campus community. You’ll get to sign your commitment, take photos, and celebrate this huge milestone!
