We Hire Students as Peer Tutors

Each semester, we hire tutors for many subjects--English, math, biology, chemistry, economics, and more. You don't have to be a straight-A student to be a great tutor, but you should have a strong desire to help others learn while improving your own learning and study habits.
Peer tutors facilitate individual and small group tutoring sessions to promote independent learning and guide students to a more complete understanding of course work and effective study habits. Tutoring sessions may occur in the Gilroy Learning Commons (LI 168), Hollister Learning Commons (A138), inside the classroom as part of our embedded tutoring program, or online.
Apply Today!Student workers are not to exceed 20 hours a week across all campus employment.
Starting Pay: All peer tutors start at Step 2* (minimum wage + $1; currently, $18/hour). See "Base Compensation" in the Student Worker Handbook for details about pay rates and increases. *Peer tutors who demonstrate Spanish biliteracy earn an additional $0.50/hour.
