Graduation 2023
Commencement attire - Cap and Gown
All individuals participating in the graduation ceremony must wear the appropriate attire: the traditional cap with tassel and graduation gown. Caps, tassels, and gowns are available at the Gavilan bookstore beginning on/about May 1st until commencement day, Friday May 26th. Full attire is $47 + tax. Rehearsal
While not required, Gavilan College strongly urges all graduates who are participating in the ceremony to attending one of the ceremony rehearsals. Two rehearsals will be scheduled on Thursday, May 25th: one in the morning at 10a, one in the afternoon at 3p. The meeting location will be at the Student Center as this will be the location of the ASGC graduation reception.
At this time, you will review the processional entrance, seating directions, and other information for yourself and your guests.

Graduates with Special Requirements
Graduating students with special requirements, please contact either Grace Cardinalli at gcardinalli@gavilan.edu or Michele Castro at mcastrogavilan.edu. Additionally, we strongly urge graduating student requiring accommodations to attend one of the two commencement ceremony rehearsals.
Unexpected Circumstances
Graduating students unable to attend in person due to unexpected circumstances (illness, accidents) If you are a graduate or family member of a graduate finding that you are unable to participate in the ceremony due to unexpected circumstances, please contact Grace Cardinalli at gcardinalli@gavilain.edu. We will ensure your name is noted at the ceremony.
Guests with Special Requirements
Graduating students with a guest with special requirements (ex: mobility difficulty), please note there will be a designated disability parking area as well as a disability seating area at the venue. Two other members of your party may sit in this area with your special needs guest. A tram will be running from the parking areas to the ceremony venue helping guests with mobility issues. Please contact Grace Cardinalli at gcardinalli@gavilan.edu or Michele Castro at mcastrogavilan.edu if specific arrangements are necessary. Gavilan will make every effort to accommodate its guests.
