The Film, Television, and Electronic Media Mission Statement
Film, television, and electronic media is a major part of today’s world, and we welcome you to explore one of the many areas of our field by taking a class at Gavilan College. The Film, Television, & Electronic Media department faculty and staff are dedicated to providing students with the knowledge and experience to help you in your future career, whatever that might be. Our students can get an AA-T degree in Film, Television, and Electronic Media, or they can just improve their skills in telling a story, using effective filming techniques, and recording quality sound, which can be invaluable for presentations for school or work. Our curriculum is academically structured to meet your needs based on the specific course that you choose.
Film, Television, and Electronic Media is one of the exciting new degrees offered at Gavilan College, demonstrating the importance of the media arts in our world today. Just a few years ago there were only a handful of film appreciation courses offered at the college, but now we offer more than a dozen different types of Film & TV classes, which are all the classes required for the AA-T degree that guarantees transfer into a 4-year university.
