El Centro refers to the most essential resources required to thrive as a student, which includes access to nutritious food, stable housing, wellness, and financial wellness resources. We provide resources and referrals for registered Gavilan College students including credit and non-credit students. Below are resources available on campus.

Gavilan College Resources
AB540/UndocuScholars
Committed to providing all students with the level of services and support. Connect with our UndocuLiasion and learn if you could be eligible for AB 540 status; to pay instate tutuion ($46 per unit) and more!
Emotional Wellness
You don’t need to be in crisis to see a therapist for emotional wellness. Emotional Wellness services help you cope with any stressors affecting your academic, career, or personal goals. Gavilan enrolled students are eligible to receive up to eight (8) emotional wellness sessions per semester for FREE. Use the online request form to request an appointment.
Food Pantry, Distibution & Delivery
The Food Pantry is located by LI 134, behind the library. Food distribution days on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month and food delivery service is available for all currently enrolled students. Food delivery is for students unable to drive to campus during one or both of the drive-through food distributions each month; sign up here. Fresh produce boxes are packed and shipped directly from the source and mailed to the mailing address you indicate.
Foster Youth Support
Are you a current or former foster youth? Through our partnership with campus staff and resources, we can help you develop an academic, career, and personal plan that will help you achieve your lifelong goals.
Higher Aspirations
Do you have a past with incarceration and are interested in earning a certificate, degree or transfer? We want to help you. Higher Aspirations Initiative is a new program designed for and together with students and staff affected by incarceration and is geared toward the successful entry and completion of Formerly Incarcerated adults.
Housing/Rental Assistance
Are you in need of assistance to pay rent/mortgage? Did you or someone you live with lose their job or lost hours due to the pandemic? Are you in the process of moving and need help a night stay in a hotel or need help to pay for a moving truck? See if you qualify for assistance by completing the referral form.
Laptop MIFI Hotspot, & Equipment Request
Gavilan College has a limited number of laptops and MiFi/hotspots to loan to students who need them to continue their classes. Students registered in courses for the current semester and needing a laptop and/or hotspot, please complete the Laptop/Hotspot Request form. Note: Students should not come to campus for equipment pickup unless confirmation of laptop request has been received by phone or email from Gavilan staff.

Tutoring & Writing Center
We're in person and online to help!Taking a difficult class this semester? Want to study with someone? Sign up for an appointment at least 24 hours in advance and receive help in any subject. Zero Cost Textbooks
Find your required class texbooks here at no cost to you! Search library content, including books, ebooks, articles, videos and databases. Please contact the reference desk if you have any questions. (408) 848-4806 or reference@gavilan.edu.
