Veteran's Day and Future Veteran's Resource Center
Dear Campus Community,
As Thanksgiving draws closer, I want to take a moment to reflect and share with each of you my thoughts of gratitude.
Students, I am grateful you have chosen Gavilan as your college of choice and have entrusted us with your time and commitment to further your education and lives. Thank you for sharing your educational goals and journeys with us. The end of the semester is quickly approaching. This can bring stress for many. I want to reassure each of our students that the Gavilan staff is here to support you. Please seek any of us out if you need support with food, mental health, studying, and anything else.
To our employees, I express a resounding "Thank you," for the way each of you show up each day to teach, lead, or provide support in your specific areas, resulting in outstanding outcomes for our students. I am grateful each of you has chosen our college as your place of employment, and where you spend most of your waking hours meeting challenges head on and working collaboratively to make our institution exceptional.
Many people will spend this time of year celebrating with loved ones and eating a big meal. I am conscious that not everyone in our community will be able to enjoy this time of year due to food and housing insecurity or being far away from family. We never know what someone is going through at any given moment. This is the time to move through the last months of the year with more grace with each other.
