iLearn is Down
5/7, 10:35pm
Dear Gavilan Community,
Canvas may appear to be working again for some users, but colleges across California are still being advised to wait while additional security reviews are completed.
Out of an abundance of caution, Gavilan College is asking students and employees not to log into Canvas until we provide another update.
Canvas has informed colleges that some information stored in Canvas may have been involved in a cybersecurity incident. At this time, Canvas says there is no indication that passwords, birthdates, government-issued ID numbers, or financial information were involved.
Gavilan College’s own systems have not been affected.
Please do not click on suspicious Canvas emails, links, login pages, or messages. Official updates will come from Gavilan College.
If you need class information now, please contact your instructor directly: https://www.gavilan.edu/staff/dir.php
We will share another update as soon as we have more information.

Dear Campus Community,
iLearn, our campus learning management system, is currently offline. Instructure, the parent company of iLearn, is currently responding to a nationwide security breach affecting thousands of institutions.
In addition to the measures taken by Instructure, Gavilan College has proactively disabled local access points to further safeguard our campus data.
View Instructure live status updates on their website.
We strongly encourage you to remain vigilant and exercise caution regarding potential phishing attempts. Watch for unexpected messages that seem to come from Gavilan. The college will never ask for passwords, Social Security numbers, birthdates, or bank account information through email, text, or phone calls.
We will share updates with the campus community as we learn more.
