Sandra Marlowe

Through years of vocal study, Ms. Marlowe has acquired an extensive knowledge of the voice over a broad spectrum of genres ~ including classical, pop, musical theater with teachers such as legendary vocal coach, the late Judy Davis, Oakland, CA, Dr. David Rohrbaugh, former music director of Opera San Jose, San Jose, CA, and the late Louise Toth, mezzo-soprano, Menlo Park, CA, and jazz vocals, improvisation, and arranging with jazz masters Rhiannon, Kitty Margolis, Frank Martin, Theo Bleckmann.
Ms. Marlowe toured and performed throughout the U.S. with LA-based band, Avalon Cats, directed by Grammy-winning producer Rusty Higgins. She also performed extensively and recorded with a traditional big band, South Bay Swing Band, in the Bay Area and Central Coast. Releasing a debut CD of jazz standards to critical acclaim under her own label, LoveDog! Media in July 2012, Ms. Marlowe now leads her own band and is a featured artist at venues, concerts, and festivals. Writing and recording original songs since December 2014, she is at work on a second full-length CD for release in spring 2018.
Ms. Marlowe teaches voice and performance through private practice and workshops, serving students from middle and high schools, colleges, community and regional theaters, professional entertainers, and acts as a consultant for bands and recording artists. She is a vocalist/pianist/organist for St John The Divine Episcopal
Church, Morgan Hill, CA. Continuing her own education, she attends master classes, workshops, and professional seminars including JazzWeek Summit (panelist in 2015) in San Jose, CA and Jazz Connect in New York City, NY. She is a member of ASCAP.
