Science Alive

HAS BEEN COMPLETED FOR SPRING 2023. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT!
PLEASE BE SURE TO VISIT US AGAIN NEXT YEAR!
At Science Alive, local middle school students engage in enjoyable, hands-on science activities led by Gavilan faculty, college science and engineering majors, and local STEM professionals.
This year, we're having sessions on the chemistry of soap, deductive reasoning, separate dissections of a lamb's heart and a cow's eye, getting the DNA out of strawberries, fractals, genes and genomics, catalysts and polymers, optical illusions, cryptography, and separate sessions on building and understanding the science behind an electric motor, a trebuchet, a hovercraft, and a wind turbine.
Registration is closed! Please visit us next year for more information on registering.
Note: One student per form! The name fields in the registration form are for the student's name.
The parent/guardian needs to fill out a separate Science Alive Assumption of Risk form for each student being registered.
Food will be provided.
Check out this list of Workshops for this year to see what will be at the event!
