Student Veterans Club
The Gavilan College Student Veterans Club was founded in Fall of 2011 by a group of student veterans interested in helping veterans and families of veterans succeed and adapt to academic life at a community college.
Our club goals include: improving veteran services at Gavilan College, mentoring student veterans, bringing awareness to veteran issues, promoting understanding on campus, and working with the Gavilan extended community to foster veteran success.
As a club we are committed to Service, Scholarship, and being Social. Each semester we aim to do one service project, one event related to academics (scholarship), and at least one social event. See the schedule below to learn more about what we have planned this semester!
For more information about the club inquire in the Veterans Resource Center in Library 109.
Join Gavilan College Student Veterans Club at the 2017 Nor Cal Gladiator Rock 'N Roll event at Casa de Fruta on October 28th. You can participate in the mud run, volunteer at the event, or cheer our team through the obstacles!
Join us in October (date and time TBD) for a Scholarship Workshop. The workshop will include a scholarship resources presentation by Ray Lopez, a personal statement presentation by Ryan Shook, and one-on-one personal statement assistance from Writing Center staff, Library staff, and Faculty.
We are still considering options for our service project. Stay tuned!
