NCAS gives community college STEM students an authentic NASA experience and encourages them to finish a 2-year degree or transfer to a 4-year university to pursue a NASA-related field or career.
The Surface Science Center Laboratory at SJSU (Wolcott Lab) has been selected as the only Cal State University to host Undergraduate Research Apprenticeship Program (URAP) Scholars. Eligibility: GPA=2.8, STEM Major, US or Naturalized Citizen and ability to commute to SJSU! Summer Stipend is $4500 for 8-10 weeks and NO research experience required. Researchers will perform work on nanoscale diamond with applications in biolabeling, biosensing, magnetometry and quantum computation.
Students interested in public service and federal government are encouraged to apply for an internship. Internships are available to undergraduate college students in Senator Feinstein's Washington office as well as her four state offices located in San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and Fresno.

|CSUMB Community College Apprentice Research Experience (CCARE):
Participants will receive up to $4200 in paid stipend for their research and work throughout the summer, along with housing on the CSUMB campus. This program is funded by the US Department of Education.
