Academic Calendar Fall 2003

Fall Semester Begins Tuesday, August 19
Last Day to Add a Class Monday, August 25 - at 7pm, unless course is on the Open Entry or Late Start list.
Refund Deadline
For term-long courses
Tuesday, Sept 2 - for semester-long courses - Fees, minus a $10 processing fee, will be refunded when courses are offically dropped by this date. Refunds are not automatic, even when a class is cancelled. Students must complete a drop card prior to 7pm on Sept 2nd and rile a Request for Refund form no later than Sept 16th. Short term courses must be dropped before 10% of the course meeting times have passed. For one or two day courses, this date will occur before the start of the course.
"NRS" Deadline Friday, Sept. 12 - No Record Shown. Semester-long courses dropped by this date do not appear on the student's permanent record. The NRS deadline for a short-term course is 30% of the course meetings.
Deadline for Selecting Grading Option Friday, Sept 12 - Last day to elect the Cr/NC/Letter Grade option for designated, semester-long courses. See Admissions & Records for more information.

Grad Petitions Due

Monday, Oct 13 - See your counselor to complete a petition.

Veterans Day Holiday

Monday, Nov 10
"W" Deadline Thursday, Nov 20 - Semester-long courses dropped by this date appear on the student's permanent record with a notation of "W" for withdrawn. The "W" deadline for a short-term course is 75% of the course meetings.

Thanksgiving Holiday

Wednesday, Nov 26 - Sunday, Nov 30 - No evening or weekend courses.

Reminder to Transferring Students

Monday, Dec 8 - Students who are transferring to a CSU or UC campus for the Spring should request a GE or IGETC certification by this date.
Final Exams Monday, Dec 15 - Sunday, Dec 21
Last Day of Semester Sunday, Dec 21
Final Grades Available Monday, January 26 - Grades available for pickup in the Admissions & Records Office. To have grades mailed, leave a self-addressed, stamped envelope with the Admissions & Records Office.
