Senior Center at the Centennial Recreation Center
The Centennial Recreation Senior Center meets the diverse needs of the older adult community (50+), including multicultural and ethnic groups, through affordable, cost effective and innovative models of delivery.
The Centennial Recreation Senior Center provides comprehensive programs and services to older adults in the South County.
Needs this semester:
Volunteers are needed in the Morgan Hill Senior Café to assist with serving meals, clean-up and room set up. Assistance is needed M-F from 11:30am to 1pm. During this lunch-hour, motivated students with good ideas about programs that are stimulating mentally for seniors (name that tune, trvia, geography, spelling;) may carry out ideas under Senior Center supervision. Students may also be able to help in a Weds. 10-12 a.m. technology class
Who should apply:
Anyone over age 18 who has a high regard for older adults. Strong individuals who are able to perform simple tasks such as lifting and stacking chairs.
Who should not apply:
Individuals who are not able to take direction and work in a team setting.
Fingerprinting paid by the agency is required for this work; fingerprints are done in San Martin. Gavilan students who have been convicted of a crime may still be able to work at the Senior Center if the crime was not a violent or sexual crime. Employees at the City of Morgan Hill are very dedicated, caring and occupied in providing valuable services.
