Welcome to Gavilan STEM

The STEM Student Success Initiative (SSSI) is a new collaboration of the Natural Sciences Department and the MESA program. Working as a cooperative unit, MESA and the Natural Sciences Department provide the following services and opportunities for science, technology, engineering and math students:

• STEM dedicated counseling services aimed at helping STEM students plan their educational career and decide on transfer opportunities.
• One-to-one tutoring in the Math Lab, MESA Center and Life Sciences Tutoring Center.
• Cooperative learning experiences via Academic Excellence Workshops and Facilitated Learning Workshops.
• Internship information, opportunities and stipends.
• Sponsorships of conference attendance.
• Campus tours
