Next meeting--please note change to accomodate several members and the Nov. 10 holiday: Weds. Nov. 12,  2p.m., same place

Present: Leslie, Leah, Lucy, Susanne, John, Vero

Classified participation: Leah will contact Terrence and ask for an update. It should be clear to all that we don't always meet till 3:30, and even if we do meet that long, people who can only come for an hour are very welcome.

Mentors for students--Lacee and Audrey have been asked by the ASB to be our student reps. Leah will try to email and Lucy to call them once Leslie gives Lucy contact information for Lacee. We agreed we need to have a discussion when students are present about what support students need. Leah will ask Terrence to resume the Monday reminders about our meetings, as attendence has been low.

Green Festival: Agreed to invite whole campus to attend on Nov. 8 or 9, with or without the student group that is going to go. Leslie suggested that information from vendors who might come to the Nov. 20-22 Marketplace be gathered at the Green Festival; Leslie will bring Marketplace forms to Leah to distribute with this in mind.

Native American Heritage Month--Lacee was going to check with ASB re: mascot discussion or event, and with Arturo re: collaboration on a Day of the Dead event. She was not able to attend today's meeting, so Leslie will follow up with her. Ohlone storyteller Ann Marie Sayers will speak to Leah's class, probably Nov. 19 at 10 and noon.

CCLC--Jan not present to discuss.

UN Human Rights Day--after much discussion, Susanne said she would like to work with students on putting up the UN Human Rights around campus, as was done last year. Leah will try to help International Club students with speaker suggestions on the topic of religious tolerance. And Leslie will talk to Angie, Suzanne, and Karen about a float Gavilan is sending to the Hollister Festival of Lights event on Nov. 29, to ask that the float promote Gavilan's diversity and not specifically Christmas or Christmas themes. John noted that we now have a flatbed truck for floats, and may want to plan future floats. Vero will work on a flier about religious intolerance and a Rambler ad or article about the topic.

Spring semester planning will be on the next agenda, but we did talk about Martin Luther King Freedom train to SF. John will get tickets and try to get at least 20 Gavilan people to ride the train; he will work on getting information out in early December.

Meetings for the rest of the semester: Weds. Nov. 12, then back to Monday Nov. 24 and Dec. 9. Please mention to people the Weds. meeting so we can get our numbers back up; it was a little small though spirited today.

Next agenda: spring planning.
