Rams Streaked Snapped

For the first time in ten matches, the Gavilan College Women's Volleyball Team finished the match on the losing end, losing to Cabrillo College 20-25, 25-27, 20-25.  The loss puts Gavilan and Cabrillo in a tie for first place, both having 6-1 records.

Bri Romero led the Rams offensively with 14 kills on the night along with 23 digs.  But tough serving from the Cabrillo shut down the Gavilan offense, causing Romero to take the majority of the swings.  "Their tough serving kept us from being able to set our middles, which have been a huge part of our offense," said Head Coach Kevin Kramer.  Middles Cheyenne Hambey and Tessa Fischer were held to 6 kills combined on the night.

Gavilan heads into the home strech next week with two of its final three matches.  If the Rams are able to finish 3-0, they can secure a co-championship and an berth to the Nor-Cal Playoffs for the first time in program history.
