Rams Slip Past Monterey
After a quick start from the Gavilan College Women's Volleyball team Wednesday night, the final was a bit more of a battle than the Rams were counting on. After being down 2-6 in the first set, Gavilan went on a 23-9 run to win the set 25-15. Over the next three sets, Gavilan saw their offense turn cold, allowing Lobos hitters to take control. However, even with the shift in control, Gavilan was able to weather the storm and sneak out of Monterey Peninsula with a four set win 25-15, 25-19, 12-25, 26-24. The victory brings the Rams to a 12-7 overall record and to 5-1 in the Coast Conference. Emily Tonascia led Gav' with 13 kills while Kayce Skocko added 10. Melissa Avila, Brittany Lewis, and Alyssa Brusaschetti combined for 33 assists with Avry Walker contributing 21 digs on the night.
