On September 21, with her third serve of the match against Simpson University sophomore Karina Daniels became the Gavilan College Volleyball all-time career ace leader with 66. The record came on Daniels’ 40th career match with the Rams, besting the previous mark held by two former Rams, the previously mentioned Avila and Teresa Hodges (2007-2008). Daniels also holds the record for most aces in a season with 41 last year. On the season she has 34 aces, which currently puts her 7th in the state. Daniels achievements don’t end there. She currently has 302 digs on the season which currently puts her 4th in the state. With her dig totals from last season Daniels has 561 digs for her career which puts her fourth on the Gavilan College Volleyball digs in a career list. Briahnna Romero(2008-2009) currently holds the record for digs in a career with 877.

Those are not the only two Rams moving up the record book. Sophomore middle hitter Andreinna Castaneda currently sits at 102 career blocks which puts her 3rd all-time behind Emily Tonascia’s (2010-2011) record of 125. Sophomore outside hitter Tazi Apple’s 204 kills this season is the 6th most kills in a season by a Ram trailing Arica Hernandez’s mark of 247 set in 2008.
