Gavilan, CA- The only thing that went wrong for the Gavilan College Volleyball team on Wednesday night was a shoe malfunction after the first point of the match causing the Rams to use a timeout. However from that point forward it was smooth sailing as the Rams continued their winning ways with a three set victory over Skyline College: 25-14, 25-19, and 25-17.

The Rams were led by a breakout performance by Lilly Martinez who had a career high of 10 kills and hit a blistering .412. She was joined by teammates Jessica Stofer (7 kills), Tazi Apple (7 kills), Savanna Hartman (6 kills), Ryan Asp (5 kills) and Andreinna Castaneda (5 kills). Sabina Gerard dished out 32 assists before handing over the reins to Lissette Pedraza who finished the match with 4 assists.

Defensively the Rams were led by Karina Daniels (16 digs), Daisy Valladares (10 digs), and Gerard (9 digs).  From behind the service line Daniels, Gerard, Valladares and Hartman each had 2 service aces. With this win the Rams improve their record to 15-6 and 5-0 in conference play. Gavilan will now take to the road to finish the first round of conference play in Redwood City to take on Cañada College.
