Gilroy, CA- At home for only the second time all year, the Gavilan College Volleyball team in a match for supremacy a top the Coast Conference South Division won a crucial match against visiting Foothill College 23-25, 25-22, 25-13 and 25-17. The Rams are now 12-6 with a 2-0 conference record.

After dropping a close first set, the Rams came out swinging in game two and never looked backed. Lead by Sabina Gerard’s 40 assist the Gavilan offense kept Foothill’s defense on their heels all night. Tazi Apple (17 kills) and Savanna Hartman (13 kills) were a two woman wrecking crew, with Jessica Stofer (7 kills), Andreinna Castaneda (5 kills) and Ryan Asp (3 kills) coming up with big kills of their own.

The defense for the Rams, as always brought their A game.  Karina Daniels (15 digs), Raelynn Heredia (12 digs), and Brittani Siaz (9 digs) kept the opposing hitters scratching their heads all game long.  From the service line the Rams had 7 service aces as a team with Valladares (4 aces) and Hartman (2 aces) leading the way.

The Rams take the court at home next Wednesday night before hittingthe road on Friday against West Valley in Saratoga. First serve is schedule for 6:30 p.m.
