Five Gav' Players Sign Letter of Intent
Even though the Gavilan College Women's Volleyball team haven't played a match since late November, the hard work continues as five Gav' Volleyball members have signed their National Letter of Intent. Avry Walker, a 2011 First Team All-Conference selection, accepted a full scholarship to attend and play at Talladega College in Alabama. Walker was a two year starting outside hitter at Gavilan and helped lead the team to two consecutive CCCAA Regional Playoff appearances.
KC Beadle, a two year starting middle for the Rams, has accepted a scholarship to attend and play at Evergreen State College in Washington next fall. Beadle served as one of the biggest blocking threats in Gavilan College history over the past two seasons.
Brittany Lewis, a sophomore setter for the Rams, has accepted a scholarship offer with Waldorf College in Forest City Iowa. Lewis was part of the 2009 Gavilan College squad that won the school’s first Coast Conference Championship in volleyball. After taking a year off, she returned to the team in 2011 and became one of the main setters on the team.
Melissa Avila has also signed to play volleyball at Dickenson State University in North Dakota. Avila was a two time First Team All-Coast Conference selection, and one of the most well rounded players in Gavilan Volleyball history.
Emily Tonascia is the most recent Ram to sign, committing to Menlo College. Tonascia, another two time First Team All-Coast Conference player, has been a staple in the Gavilan offense of the past two season.
