Rams Pick Up Road Win

Aptos, Ca – The Gavilan College Baseball team came away with a come from behind 11-5 win over Cabrillo College in game 1 of a 3 game series to end the year. Brian Cosimano picks up the win after completing 7 innings of relief.

The Seahawks were the first to get on the board as they scored four runs in the first inning and one in the second to take a quick 5-0 lead. The Rams got on the board in the top of the 5th when Jacob Baker drew a bases loaded walk to bring in Noah Munoz. Then a sacrifice fly by Robert Najar brought Ben Prentiss to make it 5-2. The inning was capped by Nate Alejo as he hit a line drive to left center field bringing in Baker and Javier Rodriguez to get the Rams within one.  By this point Brian Cosimano was in his fifth inning of work, as he took the mound in the third inning to relieve starter Matt Dileonardo. As Cosimano continued to shut down Cabrillo, the Rams continued to strike. In the top of the fifth Gavilan put two on the board to take the lead. Rodriguez scored on a wild pitch before BT Ellis hit into a fielder’s choice which brought in Najar. The Rams would go on to score one in the 6th and 4 more in the 7th  highlighted by RBI singles by Munoz, Rodriguez and Baker.


  • Brian Cosimano threw 7 innings giving up six hits while walking only one batter to get the win
  • Jose Rodriguez went 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored one walk and an RBI
  • Nate Alejo when 2 for 4 scoring once while driving in two
  • Jacob Baker had 1 hit in 3 at bats while scoring once and driving in two runners while walking twice


The Rams will continue the series with Cabrillo as they play game two back at home on Wednesday at 2:30 pm. This will be the last home game of the year for the Rams, before they finish the season in Aptos on Saturday. Go Rams!
