Back on the Winning Track

Gavilan, CA – Since losing their first game of the year a week ago, the Gavilan College Volleyball team has gotten back on the winning track with wins over De Anza College, Shasta College and Folsom Lake College over the weekend and last night was no different. Taking on the visiting Colts of Canada College, Gavilan came away with a 25-9, 25-6 and 25-13.

The Rams came out swinging hitting a .593 kill percentage; their previous high in that category was .368. Nine different Rams registered a kill, but it was Katia Dizon who led the team with 8 followed by Charlotte Cannizzaro with 6. Kieley Hoskins had 14 assists while Melissa Zanotto had 10. Mikeila Banda had 10 digs in her one set of volleyball she played to lead the team defensively. Evelyn Clonts finished with 5 blocks.

The Rams improve their record to 17-1 and 2-0 in conference play. They will travel to San Jose next Friday night to take on San Jose City College. First serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Go Rams!
