From Ram to Penguin

Gavilan College – Gavilan College women’s basketball sophomore captain Sadie Allen, a two time 1st Team All Coast Conference selection, has signed her letter of intent to continue her education and basketball career at the Dominican University of California in San Rafael.

Allen lay upAllen, a psychology major, led the team with in scoring and rebounding in back to back seasons. She averaged 11.4 points a game, shooting 42.2 % on the year to go along with 6.9 rebounds a game. Four different times this year she had a double double, which was the most by any Ram this season.

Last season she helped led the team to one of the best seasons the programs has ever had with an 18-win season and an appearance in the 2016-2017 CCCAA State Regional's. Allen averaged 13.2 points a game shooting an average of 38.9% from the field. She also cleaned up on the boards with 8.8 rebounds a game. Her career high scoring game came during her freshman year against Hartnell College. In the 72-55 win, Allen scored 26 points and finished with 11 rebounds.

Allen will be joining a Penguin team that had one of their programs best season with an overall record of 18-12 and 11-9 in conference. With the team returning the PacWest Player of the Year and four starters it safe to say Allen will be heading to a program that is heading in the right direction.
