San Jose, Ca – For the second time this season the Gavilan Men’s Basketball team went into the gym at San Jose City College to take on the home team. For the second time this season the Rams came away with a victory. Leading 37 to 26 at halftime, the Rams came away with a 76-69 victory.

The 16th ranked Rams shot 48% from the field and were led by Ja-Mont Wilson’s team high 19 points, followed by Xander Bowers’ 17 points as well as 12 points both scored by Brian King Jr and Ibn Ziad. Bowers cleaned up on the boards with 11 rebounds, 6 which were of the offensive variety, to go along with 6 blocks.

With the victory, Gavilan improves their record to 19-2 and 5-1 in conference play. Heading into last nights games, the Rams were tied with Hartnell College a top of the conference standings. However, the Panthers loss to MPC now leaves Gavilan alone in first place at the halfway point in Coast Conference play.

The team will take Friday night off, and prepare themselves to host West Valley College on Wednesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
