Gavilan CollegeGavilan College and the Coaches of the Women's Basketball team will be honoring the four sophomores: Sadie Allen, Christa Arroyo, Donatella McCleod and Jennifer Rosales. The game will be played Friday night with tip off around 7:00 p.m. Let us tell you a little bit about these four young women.

Sadie Allen- Sadie has been the leading scorer for our team the past two seasons and has also been one of top rebounders in the Coast Conference as well. Sadie has career averages of 12 points and 8 rebounds and is currently in the top 3 of the conference for offensive rebounds per game. Sadie also steps up for the big games and has had season highs of 18 points versus Cabrillo and Mission. Sadie was just as deadly on the defensive end being able to guard the opposing teams best player whether that was a shooter, slasher, or post player. She has grown a lot as a player and plans on continuing her basketball career at a four year university next fall. She will be missed for her fun attitude and all the sarcastic zingers that she would make at Coach Nelson.

Christa Arroyo- Christa has been a great leader and dynamic player within our basketball program. A two sport athlete her dedication to multiple sports while also maintaining a 3.8 GPA has been an inspiration to everyone around her. Christa has been averaging 8 points per game while also establishing herself as one of the best 3pt shooters in the conference at 42% for the conference season. Christa has also been a major contributor on defense where her pesky on ball defense against opposing guards has been a huge part of our defensive philosophy. Christa plans to enroll in a nursing program at a four year university and has loved being a two sport athlete here at Gavilan College. Her work ethic, one-liners, and infectious energy will definitely be missed.

Donatella McCleod- Telly has established herself as one of the most dynamic point guards in the Coast Conference. Her ability to push the ball on offense and apply pressure on defense has been a huge part of what we do on both ends of the floor. Telly is one of the best on-ball defenders in our conference with the ability to pressure and frazzle opposing teams point guards or shutting down an opposing teams best off guard that can score by attacking the basket or knocking down the outside shot. Her balance on both ends of the floor is evident in her complete floor game stats where she averages 8.5 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals per game. We have enjoyed having Telly's energy and athleticism in our program and we are looking forward to what the future holds as she weighs the next chapter both athletically and academically.

Jen Rosales- Jen has been an outstanding leader for our program the past two seasons. Whether it is taking a charge, getting a deflection or steal, guarding the opposing teams best shooter or post, Jen does whatever it takes to help her team win. She has been a versatile defender and relentless competitor in our program that has been a joy to coach. In conference Jen has averaged 6.5 points and over 6 rebounds per game. She has also been one the conferences better offensive rebounders with over 2 per game. Jen will also be enrolling in a nursing program and we wish her all the best as she prepares for her career in the medical field.
