Coalinga, CA – For the second time in a week, the Gavilan College Baseball team drove down to Coalinga to take on the West Hills College baseball team. And for the second time in a week the Rams came away with a victory, winning the game 11-1.

Cameron Gilroy took the mound for the Rams and went five innings giving up four hits and one walk with two strikeouts earning his first win of the season. With the bat it was Cory Jacob who led the team in hits with 3 in 5 at bats, while Dillon McFarland went 2-4 with 2 RBI’s.

The Rams got on the board early when Brock Bueno singled in Alex Rose in the 1st. A McFarland single would bring in Bueno and it was a quick 2-0 lead. The scoring continued in the 2nd and 4th inning with a run apiece. Then in the 5th inning, the Rams put up a 5 spot on the Falcons only to finally score their final two runs in the 7th.

The pitching platoon of Gilroy, Adrian River, Josh Leveron and Diego Reynoso gave up only one run on 7 hits, striking out 7 while walking only 4 batters.

The Rams will now travel to San Mateo to take on the Bulldogs at 2:00 pm on Thursday.
