Student-Athletes for October

Gavilan, CA – The Gavilan College Athletic Department would like to announce that three student-athletes have been honored for their hard work and dedication in the classroom as well as on the athletic field during the month of October. Gavilan’s Student-Athletes of the Month are Evelyn Clonts (Volleyball), Jesus Lopez (Soccer) and Corey Garcia (Football).

Evelyn Clonts – Sophomore (Volleyball)

High School/Hometown: Gilroy/ Gilroy, CA

Major: Communications

Jesus Lopez – Freshman (Soccer)

High School/Hometown: Pacheco/ Los Banos, CA

Major: Liberal Arts-Natural Science

Corey Garcia – Sophomore (Football)

High School/Hometown: Santa Teresa/ San Jose, CA

Major: Psychology

Throughout the academic year, the Rams Athletic Department will recognize the achievements of its student-athletes on and off the field of competition by honoring them with the Togo’s Student-Athlete of the Month Award.  Special attention is focused on four main areas: academic achievement, athletic success, leadership, and community service.  This monthly award embodies the spirit of Rams Athletics and Gavilan College.  At the end of the year, those that have been recognized as student-athletes of the month will be considered for the prestigious Male and Female Togo’s Student-Athlete of the Year Award.  Special thank you to award sponsors: Togo’s on 1st Street in Gilroy and Articulate Solutions.
