Final 1 2 3 4 5 T
Gavilan (14-4, 4-0) 25 25 25 - - 3
Cañada (5-12, 1-2) 18 9 17 - - 0
San Mateo, CAWednesday Night, Gavilan College took on Cañada College, but the match did not take place on the Cañada campus. Instead the match took place on the campus of the College of San Mateo. Cañada College is currently going through a gym remodel just like Gavilan College. Like the Rams, Cañada has 8 freshmen on the roster. And based on the results of the match that is where the comparisons stop, as Gavilan would go on to win the match in three sets 25-18, 25-9, 25-17.
The match was never in doubt, thanks in large part to the hitting of Haley Leifheit and Sarah Weiby. Leifheit, a sophomore had 3 of her team high 11 kills in the first while Weiby also had 3 in the first to go with her total of 8 kills. The teams remaining 18 kills came from seven different hitters.  This has been the story offensively for the Rams this year, a truly balanced attack with a different player leading the way each match. Also has it has been most of the year, Christa Arroyo lead the team with 22 assists while Greysen Gilroy had 11 of her own. Libero Mikeila Banda had 18 digs, while Katia Dizon dug 15 hits as well. Camille Finley had 4 blocks while Evelyn Clonts had 2, both players only seeing action in the first two sets.

With the victory, Gavilan improves their record to 14-4 and 4-0 in conference play. On Friday night the Rams will hit the road one last time this season to take on Foothill College in Los Altos Hills. That match will mark the finish of the first half of conference play. The final six regular season games will all take place at home in the newly remolded Bud and Jean Ottmar Memorial Gymnasium. As always first serve will take place at 6:30 pm.
