It was a tuff 2017 season for the Gavilan College Softball team, but with the end of the season upon us, a few bright spots have been acknowledged by the coaches of the Coast Conference.  Three Rams were named to the 1st Team All-Coast Conference Team as well as two other Rams named to the 2nd Team All-Coast Conference Team. 

They are led by 1st teamers Sophomore Sara Rickard and Freshmen Nicole Villanueva and Baylee Padilla Sophomore Yurixa Gonzalez  and Freshmen Madison Gutierrez-Urban make up the members of the 2nd team.

Rickard (San Benito HS) is a middle infielder hit .361 with 23 RBIs, 26 run scored and 7 stolen bases. In the fall she will be transferring to San Jose State University. Villanueva (Christopher HS), an outfielder, batted .329 while driving in 18 runs, scoring 11 herself to go with 6 stolen bases. She had a fielding percentage of .971.  Padilla (Yerba Buena HS) hit .280 with 10 RBIs and 15 runs scored. Gutierrez-Urban (San Benito HS)   went 8-22 with a 4.58 ERA with 71 strikeouts. She also batted .381 with 19 RBIs and scored 22 runs. Gonzalez (San Benito HS) an infielder hit .345 with 10 RBIs and scored 19 runs.
