Claudia Schalesky was born in Lima, Perú. She came to the United States in
1992 to study at the Lutheran Bible Institute in Anaheim, CA. Two years
later she got married to her husband, Justin, whom she met at the school.
Claudia studied at West Valley College and De Anza College where she
completed her general education. Then she transferred to San José State
University where she got her B.A. in Spanish and German. She also got her
M.A. in Spanish at San José State. While she was getting her master’s
degree she was able to teach German at the university. This experience
helped her to launch her career in the teaching field.
She taught Spanish at Anchorpoint Christian High School in Gilroy for two
years. For the past three years she has been teaching part-time at
Evergreen Valley College and San José City College in San José. She
teaches Elementary Spanish and Conversational Spanish at both colleges.
She likes to learn languages and about other cultures. She also enjoys
travelling to Perú and visiting her family. She has a baby boy, John, that
keeps her busy and active. She lives with her family in Gilroy, CA.
She is currently teaching Elementary Spanish at Gavilán College.
