What is RSS feed?

An RSS feed is a simple way to provide data such as upcoming events, headlines, summaries, or links to full stories. RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for sharing and distributing Web content.

What is a news reader?

A news reader application (also called RSS/News Aggregators) will download and display RSS feeds that the user is subscribe to. News readers periodically check the web site for updates, so the user do not have to constantly check the website for updates.
