OjO Murals 4 Service (OM4S) is a Gavilan College based program which creates murals throughout our communities. It uses a year-long educational process to teach community organizations how to express themselves via mural creation.

The San Martin Gwinn elementary school mural "A World of Respect" was created throughout the 2003-2004 school year. The OjO Murals 4 Service program, in collaboration with students and staff at San Martin Gwinn, participated in over 25 mural workshops throughout the year, of which this mural is the end result. Workshops were conducted by Artistic Director Aaron Saucedo, a Gavilan College graduate, and supervised by the Program Director r2row. Additionally, 10 Gavilan College students assisted in facilitating the workshops for approximately 30 San Martin Gwinn 6th grade students.

The mural?s theme is respect; the creation process was developed with this theme in mind. Each participant was encouraged to express his/her ideas (or ideals) of respect. Many of these ideas were then integrated into the mural A World of Respect.
