WHY: The Gavilan College Child Development Center provides a safe, loving, secure environment that fosters each child's unique cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language development within a well-planned environment. Our program strives to meet both age and developmentally appropriate practices. We believe that children learn by doing and experience hands on learning. We aim to extend and build upon the child's knowledge and also support the children in building strong supportive relationships. The facility is licensed and our highly trained staff are all CPR/First Aid certified.
We are a laboratory school and additional qualified adults may also be working, in addition to our regular staff, with the children on varying schedules. These may include Child Development Interns, Nursing Interns, Work Study Students, Parent Volunteers, and students from other Gavilan College classes.
