What: October officially marks the beginning of Disability Awareness Month, and the Gavilan College Disability Resource Center has planned a number of events for students and the community.
When & Where: On October 21st, the DRC will hold a DRC High Tech Open House in LI 105 from 1 - 4 pm. Everyone will have a chance to see the latest computer assistance technologies, and specialized equipment that are on the market today. Attendants will also enjoy free food and prizes.
On October 27th, the Gavilan DRC will host an Autism Spectrum Disorder Workshop from 9 am - 3 pm, in the Gavilan College Student Center. Registration for this workshop is now closed because it has reached its full capacity.
The DRC is also preparing to host its annual Wheelchair Basketball Game on November 30th, in the Gavilan Main Gym. There will be special appearances by athletes from the Oakland Raiders. More information concerning this event will be released during the month of November.
