Free Guest Seminar Series at the Summer Institute for Digital Media Entertainment

WHO: Gavilan's Institute for Digital Media Entertainment (IDME), where students can learn how to produce their own videos, create a podcast, create their own digital music, animate 3D fantasy games, design websites, and more.

WHAT: The IDME would like to invite the public to a Free Guest Seminar series, July 9th and 10th from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. This year the series will feature Vin Capone, Apple Pro App executive, who will be explaining the latest techniques in video production, editing and motion graphics and Jane Edberg, Gavilan College Professor of Art & Photography, who will discuss everything from creativity to using Photoshop. The seminar will also feature other guest speakers who will share their professional tips on web design, 3D animation and podcasting.

The IDME would also like to invite the public to attend Digital Live, a live concert of digital music and video looping, on July 8th at 8:00 p.m. Digital Live features internationally renowned looper Rick Walker, innovative guitarist Bill Walker, and found-sound artist Joe Rut. The public will be admitted with a $10.00 contribution.

WHERE & WHEN: Gavilan's IDME will be taking place this summer on the Gilroy Gavilan College campus in Studio DM. It runs from July 9 - August 2. Monday - Thursday, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

COST: The guest seminars are free, but in order to attend IDME's main sessions, students must register ($27.00 for residents, $210.00 for out of state) for DM 108 Digital Media Lab (1 unit).
