To be placed on the President's Honor roll, a student must earn a 3.5 or higher grade point average in at least 15 units during a single semester. To qualify for the Deans' List, students must maintain a 3.0 grade point average with at least 12 units for the semester. Both of the honors are noted on student transcripts.

In addition to the Gavilan Joint Community College District communities of Morgan Hill, Gilroy, San Juan Bautista, San Martin, Hollister, Tres Pinos, and Coyote, cities represented include Aromas, Boulder Creek, Capitola, Danville, Genoa, Los Altos, Los Banos, Los Gatos, Milpitas, Monterey, Palo Alto, Prunedale, Royal Oaks, Salinas, San Jose, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Seaside, Sunnyvale, and Watsonville.
