WHO: Prospective college students, current students, and community
members of all ages
WHAT: Are invited to a FREE spring festival and college open house.
GAVFEST 2006 will include three stages with entertainment, a kids
activities zone, an arts and crafts fair, a job fair, a food court, and
college and community resources. It's a wonderful way for the whole
family to spend a Saturday on the beautiful Gavilan College campus.
Potential students can also learn about courses offered, financial aid
programs, and even talk to a college counselor about getting started.
This year, community performance groups will be joining the festivities
in the Talent Showcase, and the annual Cardboard Boat Races will take a
new wild twist as contestants design and assemble their boats on site.
Visitors will also have a chance to try the new digital voting machine
with printout that Santa Clara County will be rolling out in the next
election.
WHEN and WHERE: Saturday, May 6, from 10 am to 3 pm on the Gavilan
College Gilroy campus: 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd.
