Vision San Benito will hold the first two of many community meetings on WEDNESDAY , JULY 14 and WEDNESDAY, JULY 28 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m at the Gavilan College site in the Briggs' Building on the corner of Fourth and San Benito streets. Gavilan College President Dr. Steve Kinsella will facilitate the meetings.
The purpose of these initial community meetings is to invite interested community group representatives and individuals to join the Advisory Committee of Vision San Benito. This committee will be made up of volunteers representing as many segments of the community as possible. The group will meet regularly for a period of up to 18 months to collaborate on a practical document used to guide San Benito County's economic, environmental and social future.
Through this broad-based initiative, called Vision San Benito, the group will develop a written recommendation to the community that will help guide the county's future towards a livable and beautiful place for generations to come. Residents will represent varied interests including the arts, social services, the environment, government, education, business and non-profits. It is the intent of the group to revisit this ?Vision Document? on a regular basis to evaluate its success and to ensure that the Vision process serve as a living, vibrant action program for the community.
All are invited to attend and begin the collaborative process of shaping our community's future.
