RESOLUTION TO INVOLVE GAVILAN COLLEGE

IN COMMUNITY RECOGNITION OF SPECIAL CITIZENS

Resolution # 739

Whereas Gavilan Joint Community College District shares a community relationship with South San Jose the cities of Morgan Hill, Gilroy, Hollister, and San Juan Bautista, and

Whereas this relationship involves the skills, talents and special attributes of the citizens of the above mentioned communities, whose dedication and contributions are the very spirit of “community”, and

Whereas any celebration of specific or general accomplishment constitutes a symbolic triumph for all within the community, and deserves leadership as well as citizenry recognition, and

Whereas Gavilan Joint Community College District as the premiere educational facility within these communities is in a leadership role, and

Whereas the leadership, within the Gavilan Joint Community College District communities sees fit to honor special citizens with various commendations, and

Therefore be it resolved the Gavilan Joint Community College District will establish an appropriate method by which to recognize and celebrate citizens.

Be it also resolved that the entire campus be involved in determining the celebration or award method.

Be it further resolved that the Board of Trustees adopt the final celebration method to be executed annually.
