In the 1990's while in art school, even painters like myself had to handle wood, clay paper, etc.  I loved clay!  Six years ago, I came to Gavilan and the love affair with clay continues! 

My current passion is pit fire.  Pit firing is amazing venture, always different.  For me, it's a joy, like opening up a gift.  I find the act of burnishing to be a meditation of sorts.  The beauty of the clay surface painted with fire is surpassed to me.
