I was born and raised in New York City, where I graduated from Stuyvesant High School. I attended college in upstate New York. After college I moved to California to spend four years as a manufacturing supervisor for Frito-Lay, Inc.

I made a career change to the arts and then non-profit management. I spent six years with InnVision as Public Relations Director and advocate for the homeless prior to joining the staff at Gavilan College.

I now live in Gilroy with my family, serve on the South County Council for United Way and on the board of the California Community College Public Relations Organization.
