Bye Bye Birdie in the Gavilan College Theater, this weekend and next

Remember these songs?: Kids, Got a Lot of Living, and Put on A Happy Face.  The performance is directed by Dr. Catherine Booth, Christopher High School / Gavilan, with artistic direction and costume design by Dr. John Lawton-Haehl of Gavilan College.  Bring your entire family to this lively musical that people off all ages can enjoy. Bye, Bye, Birdie is a collaborative bridge production between Gavilan College and Christopher High School.  The cast features 30 students from Christopher High School, 20 from Gavilan College and several members of the community.   

Where: The Gavilan College Theater at 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., Gilroy, 95020.

When: April 26 at 8 PM, April 28 at 2 PM, May 2 & 3 at 8 PM, May 10 at 8 PM, and May 11 at 2 PM and 8 PM.

Cost: Tickets are $10 for students and senior, or $15.00 for general admission. Advance tickets can be purchased at The Gavilan College Bookstore and BookSmart in Morgan Hill.

Learning Council retreat
Please join us for the Learning Council Retreat on May 3, 2013 11 am – 4 pm at the Morgan Hill Site (Please go to the link below to participate in the potluck for our lunch). We encourage everyone to attend to collaborate and help move the Learning Council to the next level!  We are looking to expand our membership.

Ceramics Sale
The Gavilan ceramics department is holding their spring sale May 1, 2, and 3 in the Art Quad in front of the ceramics room.  You will find lots of NEW WORK by students and faculty KC Gonzales and Jane Rekedal.  There are beautiful plants and planters, cups, bowls, sculptures, plates, and everything else you can imagine.  Each day of the sale more new work will be revealed as more comes out of the kilns.  Proceeds from the sales are used for purchasing supplies and tools for the classroom, directly benefiting our students.

CDC Fundraiser for St. Jude's

There is still the opportunity to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through the The CDC fundraiser.  If you would like to donate please contact Susan Alonzo.  You can donate online by going to and going to Gavilan College site.  You can also either send a check made out to St. Jude Children's Hospital or contribute cash to the CDC by April 30.
