SPRING FORWARD! Remember to set your clocks (at home) ahead one hour on Sunday morning

On campus,  the American Time & Signal Radio Controlled Clocks (imprinted on the clock face) will reset automatically.  If the clock does not reset within 48 hours let us know at and we will reset your clock.  Just remember the following:

1)      DO NOT attempt to remove the cover and move the clock hands.

2)      DO NOT remove or try to adjust the clock in any way.

Maintenance staff will set any of the non-radio controlled clocks that are unreachable at Gavilan.

Whew! We made it! Many thanks to the Rambassadors, the Accreditation Committee, and everyone who met with the team, attended the forums, or contributed to  the writing of the Self-Study. The visiting teams' report is just one component of the final verdict from the Accrediting Commission, which also considers the Institutional Self-Study, our history with the commission, and other documentation we have provided. We should receive the Commission's letter 30-45 days after they meet in June.  In their report-out, the team made two recommendations, regarding SLO integration with institutional planning and budgeting, and support services for Distance Education. They also gave a number of commendations, including financial stability, student support services like the Welcome Center, Rambassadors, Veterans Center, and Orientation, our collegial and collaborative approach, as demonstrated through the Learning Council, dedicated governing board members, and collaboration between the math and English faculty, and the Office of Institutional Research for cohort tracking.

Please keep in mind that GECA sophomores must take the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) on Tuesday, March 12 & Wednesday, March 13. Testing begins at 8:00 and finishes at 12:30.
