Chancellors Office Unveils the Student Success Scorecard

The new CCCCO scorecard has just come out. It is "the first-of- its-kind accountability tool designed to measure student achievement and increase the number of students who earn certificates, degrees or transfer. The new online Student Success Scorecard will allow students, parents and the public to track student outcomes at all 112 colleges, making California community colleges one of the most transparent systems of higher education in the country." Here is the link to the Gavilan College scorecard site: (

Researcher Randy Brown has also posted a spreadsheet for the last 5 years on my reports page and a printable version of the annual report on the Institutional Research site.  This is the first year of the new scorecard.  This report tracks persistence (% of new fall students who reenroll the subsequent fall), 30 unit (% of new students who complete 30 units), completion (% of new students who obtain degree/certificate, transfer, or are transfer prepared), remedial (% of basic skills students who passed a English/Math transfer level course), and CTE (success rates in CTE). A cool new features is that the report also allows you to look at these indicators by subgroup (e.g. sex, ethnicity, age, and basic skills status). Randy has also incorporated some of this data into our annual Student Success Report.
